Instead of being excreted, the proteins that are spent in the production of sperms tend to accumulate. After sterilization, the fluid flows back to the glands other than the spermatozoa. Sperm also keeps on deteriorating like other cells like – blood cells. It is easier to connect a man’s vein than a woman’s when needed.

(b) Tubectomy – In this, by making a two-inch incision in the abdomen below the navel, the oviduct duct (fallopian tube) is taken out and divided. For this operation, the woman has to stay in the hospital for a week. It is convenient within 36 hours after delivery. At that time the tubes remain up and the length of the hospital stay is almost the same.

5. Artificial methods – The main artificial methods used by women are – diaphragm, filling cream in the vagina with atomizer, frothy tablets, rubber, sponge paper, cotton and cloth sponge, jelly etc. It is estimated that around 1.5 million are using artificial methods of contraception.

6. Abortion – Abortion is a very important and effective method of family planning. It is believed that life is not transmitted to the fetus until 20 weeks from conception and abortion can be done during this period.

Abortion has been given legal recognition in India from 1st April 1972. Nevertheless, the Abortion Act of our country does not provide open freedom to abortion like other countries. In order to fulfill this objective, 550 government and non-government organizations in various states and union territories have been given recognition to perform abortions.

7. Laparoscopic Method – It is famous as binocular method. In this operation, by numbing under the navel, gas is filled in the stomach. By making a two-centimeter incision, the laparoscope is taken inside the abdomen to identify the fallopian tubes and put on celllisting. Which keeps the lighting. A ring-like ring is wrapped in the fallopian tube. In this method there is no cautery and no unconsciousness. Can come back from the hospital after six hours.

As far as the appropriate method of family planning for India is concerned, tribunal is the best method. Persons who have two or three children, any one of them, i.e. either male or female, can undergo sterilization. By sterilization, the possibility of a new birth disappears. In India, however, there is a wide publicity of detention and a lot of people use it. As far as abortion is concerned, it should be resorted to only when all other means of contraception have failed. Abortion should not be adopted as a simple means of family planning as it is injurious to the health of the pregnant woman.
